When he was stuck inside his garage with the car running, unable to turn off the engine and to get out of the car, he could have just stalled the engine with the clutch since it was a manual with a pistol grip shifter.

And I know realize how long it has been since I've seen that show...

I don't remember the episode but couldn't he have also pulled the coil wire?
ETA: I just reread and saw where you said he couldn't get out of the car. You're right, stalling it would have done the trick.

But he was trapped in the garage where exhaust fumes were buliding up.

I'm just kidding. I would have done the same if I was in the same situation.

Could've been worse if it was his Jetta! (since it's a matic)

Have you forgotten that TV and movie transmissions are magic? No amount of stalling was going to keep that engine from running, in the same way that no amount of shifting in a Fast n Furious movie will allow the driver to reach final gear.

Well this is also the episode where the car eats the carburetor and spits it out below the muffler, so...

it was the air filter, but good memory though.

I forget, didn't it not have brakes at that point? if so clutch dropping first may still have been a pretty shitty decision.

He bought it from Universal a while ago. It was a movie car.
